Alturas Main Library Lists Four-Day Week, Computers, Wi-Fi and Document Services

ALTURAS — November 2, 2026. Modoc County Library’s main branch is at 212 West Third Street in Alturas and lists regular opening hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

When the building is closed

The library system lists the branch as closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Confirm holiday changes before visiting, particularly if traveling from a neighboring rural community.

Computers and document help

Modoc County Library says all its locations have public computers and Wi-Fi. Printing from a computer is listed at ten cents per page, while copying, faxing and scanning services may have separate fees.

Resources across the county

The Alturas branch is the center of a four-community system serving Adin, Cedarville, Lookout and Alturas. Ask staff about the library catalog, special book orders and digital lending if you cannot find a title locally.
